Have you ever heard of Lynda.com? It is a website featuring tutorials on a large variety of computer programs. This is the main site I have been utilizing for teaching myself aspects of web-design. So far I have completed tutorials on HTML coding, CSS, and will soon begin flash tutorials.
Though much of Lynda's information is a repeat of the "Visual Quickstart Guide," my tutorial experience has only enhanced my understanding of the material.
The ability to subscribe and use Lynda.com does come with a price. If you are serious about teaching yourself web-design, or any other new programs/software, then I can assure you the investment is worth it.
